UX is all about human engagement

The Masters of Design (M. Des) is a four years duration, 116 credit under-graduate degree programme of Vishwakarma University (VU) Pune, The domain of User Experience design helping big, slow corporations run a little faster. It helps business houses to figuring out how to make a sense of big messes. It also helps a startup build their MVP / establish their brand. Today it helps many business houses to identify core customer needs and behaviors. 

This programme is aimed at creating professionals who can contribute to the highly dynamic and ever changing world of Product Design. The curriculum is designed to optimize traditional skills with new media skills. Foundation Programme comprises of Semester 1 and 2 and is common for all disciplines of M. Des Programme. Students study specializations in 2nd year. Programme offers the blend of practical and theoretical knowledge.

PEO1: Prepare graduates for careers in, but not limited to - the Re-design use experience, Problem Analyst Web Developers, Multimedia Developers and mobile app developers

PEO2: Familiarize students with, Graphics & software.

PEO3: Provide a good grounding in the best practice of Problem Analysis , Design Management & user experience Design.

PEO4: Prepare students to undertake further study at doctoral level.

PEO5: Teach students to explore various Trend Analysis & Product Conceptualization in the real-world.

The method of instruction (pedagogy or teaching-learning processes) shall be determined by the requirements of a course, the learning objectives, learning outcomes & the learner’s context. However, the following methods of instruction shall be commonly used: Lecture Sessions, Practical, Simulations, Field Work, Group Exercises, Projects, Self-Learning Materials (SLMs), Self-study, Seminars, Study Tours, Training Programmes, Workshops.

During semester II, students are encouraged to opt for dissertation in lieu of a generic elective course. During semester III and IV, as a part of generic core courses, students are required to take up live projects in an industry to align their theoretical knowledge and its application. Industry based live projects allow students to gain valuable work experience while they’re still studying in college. They pave way for self-empowerment through skill building and hands-on-training.
