Guest Lecture by Media Professionals from Radio Mirchi

Radio has been around since 1923 in India. In spite of the development in technology and the advancement in mass media, radio is still the second voice heard in the morning. First being your mother's. Radio Mirchi, a sister concern of Times of India group, is today the leading name in Private FM radio channels in India. VIshwakarma University's Department of Journalism, Media and Communication (JMC) organized the guest lecture of Mr. Sumit Srivastava, V.P. Cluster Head, Maharashtra, and his colleague Ms. Ayesha Tiwari on 2nd August 2017.

The lecture introduced the students to the world of Private FM Radio. Students were directed about career options in Radio and were briefed about the efforts which go in airing a Radio show. Mr. Shrivastava also spoke about making jingles, advertising, scriptwriting, event planning and execution, promotion, branding and sound production aspects referring to FM Radio. Extending his generosity he invited students to Radio Mirchi station for the internships and also to work with team Radio Mirchi on professional front.

The lecture enlightened the students of media studies by understanding the nitigrities relevant to produce a radio show. Handful of career options were also recognized through qualitative interactions occurred during the session.
